Nanowrimo update – Suggestions
My Nanowrimo goal is to write one short story every four days, and the one I was working on for this quad was supposed to be called ‘Business Cards,’ but it morphed into something completely different than I was planning.
The end result is a 592 word flash fiction story now called ‘Suggestions.’
I was having a lot of problems with this story, but after a long late night conversation with my daughter about her boyfriend the story popped into being, almost complete.
I’m very happy with the result. It still needs a little cleaning up, but it’s a very nice, tight little story.
Now on to the next one.
I like the idea of writing a collection of short stories for November, and it is fantastic how ideas pop up like that. I was sitting in McDonalds the other day, and came up without about six possible plots for short stories just because of the random conversations that were going on around me.
